Default Chester River

Trying to find out how the fishing usually is in the Chester River area, especially up near Chestertown Md or around that vicinity.

Appreciate any/all information. Tks in advance!

Most guys head further down the Chester/mouth of River to fish. There is good perch fishing up the river and maybe small rockfish. Go to meetings of CCA Kent Narrows Chapter or MSSA
Kent Narrows Chapter and you can learn everything you want to know about fishing in the area. I think it is MSSA.net or CCAMD.org. CCA Kent Narrows has their own website:
CCAKN.org. Also visit Tidalfish.com. The tidalfish website has tons of guys from MD who post regularly and you can find out what is going on. CCA Kent Narrows meets at Fisherman's Inn, Kent Narrows the 2nd Monday at 7PM. Open to all but takes a break from meetings for summer. MSSA Kent Narrows meets at the American Legion on Route 8 2 miles south of Route 50. See their website to find out their regular monthly meeting. Both are great organizations.

Here are two spots that have always given up fish for me. Hail Pt. and the channel ledge at Comegy's Bight at the Green 23. Fish the ledge there coming up from about 56-58'. I have pulled White Perch, Yellow Perch. Croaker and Rock out of there.
