Default Chincoteague

Anyone know what's going on at Chincoteague? Read about all the proposed changes last year and was wondering what actually developed. How about the new marina, the condos, etc. Haven't seen any postings lately. Thanks.

Townhouses continue to be built on the bayside. Talked with a marine contractor last week and he mentioned that he was going to start bulkheading from Chincoteague Inn to Captain Fishes. I believe this is one of the areas that will be developed with townhouses. Have yet to see any activity (construction) at the Landmark Plaza. Merritt Harbour seems to be status quo to some degree. Do not know anything in regard to new marina. Time will tell.

No one is building any kind of marina that I know of. Just a ton of townhomes. By by old school chincoteague. With all the restaurants being demolished the island family needs to expand.

I guess the marina was just a rumor and hope. I had heard that Capt. Steve had purchased an area and was looking into building one. The island could use another marina, not condos. And it definitely could use Island Family's expansion or Maria's, or some other good family restaurant.

Capt. Steve (Tom) went in with someone else and bought the building on the right side of the bridge when going to Chincoteague. It is now a fish dock. As you cross the bridge you'll see the fish boats unloading daily. I've heard Capt. Fish's will not be sold now.

Thanks for all the info. Just wanted to know what was really going on. I hate to see Chincoteague change so much, especially with all the condos. Been visiting since the 80's.

I heard the deal did not go thru on Capt Bob's but I do not know what she intends to do for this year. I'm sure a lot could change between now & then.

Can't say for Chincoteague. There was a very good run of big stripers just off Cape Henry the last few days. I don't know about after the blow yesterday though. I might give it a go tomorrow.
I heard of some nice seabass off the coastal wrecks as well.

Capt Bob's will be open this year . I do not think she will have any rental boats which will make it better for us with boats since we won't have to worry about people hitting ours.

The company that I work for is looking for two jack boat operators to work a bridge job in Ocean City. The boats are 21' steel sleds and the barges are very small work platforms. The scale is pretty good for the area 18 -20 plus bennies depending experience. Anybody interested give me a pm and I'll get you connected to the super on the site. Mark
