You usually don't hear a word, you just see the splash...

I have a friend who is an Anne Arundel Co. cop, he says the vast majority of jumpers you never hear about. They make an effort to keep it pretty quiet so as not to create the "Jumping Hot Spot" so to speak. He said when they get the call regarding an abandoned car on the bridge with no driver.....they start looking over the edge and send a boat out. I always get a bit nervous when under the bridge that one of those crazy's will hit my boat right after I cleaned it.

Do you get knocked out and drown? Or do you snap your neck,,or just go so deep you can't get back up?

I just wonder how you "really" die when jumping off a bridge?

I bet they just got tired of sitting in traffic.....

Yes it is freaking high. I bet the water is as soft as concrete from up there..

I watched a guy jump from the GNO bridge in New Orleans. It was before the Cell phone onslaught. Didn't even see much of a splash. He left a family grieving at home and two undelivered pizzas on the front seat of his Gremlin. I always wondered if they got the second order free, or how they delt with the guilt of their delivery being the one that drove the guy literally over the edge.

* Nope I was at a fuel dock just below the bridge. I think I saw the responding officers break out a box and plop it on the hood of the gremlin.
