Random Quote: Here, hold my beer, and watch this !!!
Will be in Baltimore, mid week, the week of April 28th with the family for 2 days, one night.
Went up from NC last April to pick up my boat, but basically tested the boat, paid for it and foolishly headed back to NC, through DC around 6pm on a Friday afternoon
Anyway, looking for suggestions on a few good places to eat in the Inner Harbor area for the family, kids are 12, 15, 17. I'm sure we'll do the ESPN zone.
Also looking for suggestions on where to stay for one night. Anywhere in the Inner Harbor area reasonable or should I stay out on I-95.
Any help appreciated. Plan to spend Tuesday evening there and most all day Wednesday.
I would stay at the inner harbor, its well worth it because you can walk to alot of stuff, and the view is nice too. Here is where I stay when I am up there....
Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor
300 Light Street
Baltimore, MD
I am not an expert on Baltimore I am sure others could help better. Also, in regards to returning to NC, an alternative route is to take 301 down to Richmond. It will keep you out of the DC nightmare and the I95 nightmare.
*Get on Orbitz or hotels.com and get a good rate on a Inner Harbor hotel,* then walk from there.* There's 2 Marriots, Holiday Inn, Stouffers* plenty of mid market properties.
As said,* Aquarium,* Science Center,* Little Italy, Fells Point,* Inner Harbor shops.** Plenty to keep you busy for several days
I would recommend staying in the downtown area if you'll only be there for one night--otherwise getting into and out of the city could be a pain in the neck just to save a few bucks. If you go a block or two beyond the Inner Harbor (west of Light St. and north of Pratt St.) you should find some nice hotels for about 1/2 the cost of anything directly facing the harbor. The Tremont Park, Radisson Plaza, Omni, and Wyndham are all probably good options to check out.
If the weather is nice, buy a Water Taxi pass ($6/day) and you can go from the Inner Harbor to Fell's Point, Canton, and Federal Hill all by water very easily, and you'll get a bunch of decent coupons as well. If you're looking for a good place to eat, also check out the restaurants in Little Italy, just east of the harbor, as an alternative to the chain restaurants around the harbor. Personally, my favorite place is Brewer's Art ( http://www.belgianbeer.com ) which is a mile or so north of the harbor. Also many good restaurants in that area...
They have a pool, workout room, restaurant, etc. It is located right across the street from the harbor and national aquarium. lots to do in charm city!
Try the Marriot courtyard in Inner harbor east. It is walking distance or water taxi ride from all the attractions. Very close to Little Italy which has excellent Italian restuarants. I work in the building attached to it, so I can see it is convient and probably alittle cheaper than the ones right at the harbor. Victors is right across the street, it sits on the water and has good seafood plus other items. Cheesecake factory is a very good recommendation. Truth be told you can walk the Main Inner harbor and there are plenty of places to choose from.
