with stripers in fish box. There is a thin line and the fed water is off limits to striper catching and both the stripers and the bluefin know it.

Default Bluefin

You don't need Islanders and Hoos check out the video
Do need a tuna permit and heavier leader and a gaff and be sure you stay inside the 3 mile limit if you have any rockfish on board. And keep the gaff out of sight until you are ready to use it, since it is illegal to gaff rockfish.

I just watched the video!!!! That is Donald. I called him today and he told me yall caught a blue fin, that is to funny. My brother works at the tower at cape henry for the pilots and he called me this morning and told me the bite was on again today. we are gonna fish tomorrow the winds gonna be hard NW tomorrow so we are gonna fish kinda close to the beach and try to catch some rocks. I work at the city of VB with donald. I seen ya triple wrapped on that leader and then holding your hand at the end of the video!!!! . The funny thing about MOJOS have been used for bluefin fishing for a long time. Swedes make a tuna mojo that actually have a squid head on it, its a pretty cool looking troll bait. Actually the islander and hoo comment was ment as a joke. LOL!!!!! Do you work with us also? do you own the baby blue Maycraft cc I have seen in the parking lot?

Hold on a minute. I picked up this video from another Virginia site. Unfortunently I was not fishing with these guys. My boat is broken and these reports are killing me since my slip is in Rudee Inlet minutes from Cape Henry.
Do not mean to give the impression it was me or my crew. But it is a cool video.

No big deal. I work with these guys and spoke to the guy in the video with the net yesterday morning and was surprised to see the video on this thread.

We hung one on Sunday, as well, off of Cape Henry on a Blue Water Candy, chartruce parachute. Unfortuanatley we had to tighten down the drag on him as he was trying to run off shore past the 3 mile line and we had quite a few stripers on board. Saw him once fun fight while it lasted. Would have been tasty too.

Epic day Thursday and Friday Ill put up video later. The BFT are definitely there. We had one snap off early then we hooked 3 at one time. 2 broke off rather quick. chased a 3 to 400 lb fish for 45 min to an hour he was better than the gear we had . got him to the boat 6 times but couldn't get him in. I have some video ill put up later of the knock down but the battery died before all the fighting was over. I had 4 people with me Thursday and 7 on Friday we had our limit of Rockfish fun too. I can say enough about how much fun the past 2 days were!!!! They have boated several 300 lb fish check the Virgina beach fishing centers web site.

Ok I still haven't uploaded the BFT bite but here is a teaser. The ocean looked like this and had plenty of these.
