we launch out of Anchor. We are thinking of storing it there for the winter. So far we have been very happ with the service. staff is friendly as all can be. nice facility and they do a great job of launching and retrieiving boats..
I would have to say Anchor. Not because of the marinas, because the North East river has more to offer than the Elk. Deeper water, better fishing, closer to the Susky river & flats for raft parties and more marinas with all of the service you could possibly need.

Go with Anchor. I kept my boat at Triton for several years but finally moved. Too many promises with no results delivered. My brother is still at Triton and we get a laugh out of the delays on their new hi-dry building and stories they tell cutomers about the delay. Maybe if Triton can improve customer service then they will do ok, but so far they are not cutting it.
The facility has made a huge improvement over the past couple of years. Too bad mother nature dealt a huge blow to their schedule during the fall of 2003. It was called a hurricane. Looks to me like a great enviroment without the "party atmosphere" that exist at other marina's in the area.
I'll be signing my 1 year lease next week. I hope it is as good as they say it is. The new building looks great. Yea it further to the flats but I'm hoping it will be less crowded at Triton. I've been to Anchor in the summer and its like a huge party

It may have been the constantly changing, minimum wage, staff with no knowledge of boats (really scary). Or perhaps an owner who has the book of 1,000 excuses why he or his staff is never wrong.
Hopefully a new owner can turn this high potential facility around.
I'd bring my boat back if it were run by knowledgeable staff with some sense of customer service. My brother, who left at the end of last season, would too as would many of our friends who were former customers.
LOL, My boat lasted their 1 day. I posted a thread on it about a year ago. That place was god awful. The biggest bunch of A-holes and idiots I have ever met. They were "training" their forklift guy with my boat. The SOB almost dropped it.

I have heard some negative feedback on Triton, but the water depth should not be a problem. I keep my boat on the upper Elk and unless you have a draft more than 5', you should be fine in most places. I am biased to the ELK mainly becuase it is closer to the Chesapeake Inn. Very nice scenery there! Granted fishing is much better on the flats. As long as your boat is in the water you can't really lose. Haven't had any experiences with Anchor.
