The Luca is a really nice boat. I remember when the Dad/son rebuilt her 3 or 4 years ago. He was just finishing the build of this boat as I was starting the Duffy.
They repowered her to a 300hp JD. Now has an aluminum rear deck cover. I took those pictures that were published in National Fisherman.
WOW guys those are awsome boats. Did I see the Last Chance for sale a while back or am I thinking of a different one? I would love to build one, one day does anyone know a good website for info on that?
This is one I put together,My father has close to 2000 builds documented out of southern Md.I'll try to get downthere to scan them as soon as some of the snow melts.

Yes, she was For Sale for about a year. Sold her last November. Had her for sale here on THT but no interest in a real working boat here. Now if it was a 32ft Regulator priced at $150k or a Yellowfin at 250k, I would have been able to sell it pretty quickly. Just the wrong audience here on THT for this type of boat.
The smaller blue boat is the 'Get Sum' out of Ocean City. 26' and a boat i'd have a hard time passing up if it were ever for sale. Cabin is standing room only with center wheel but the rear station, beam and general layout of the boat just screams 'lets go fishing!'. Manageable size for inshore work too.
Ben Markley bought quite a few boats off of Cecil Robbins before he and Mr Meekins came up with the 46' hull.
How about it? Mr. Cecil and his boats have earned legend status...
And start looking around and doing a little research, it surprising how many boats started as splashes from existing hulls.. I think you only have to change a hull 10 or 15% and you can call it your own.
In the Markley 46, aesthetically, in my humble opinion anyway, I think they went in the right direction. Love her lines. As much as I admire a Robbins, most seemed to have a little bit low freeboard, for me. But, eye of the beholder.

The Robbins 40' mold was made to make either a charter boat or a work boat.
There is another 40' mold made from a Robbins wooden boat, but it is a foot narrower.
I used to own a wooden Robbins/Marley work boat that was 34'. A lot more free board then the 40' glass boat.
Boy, I'll bet that 34 was a babydoll..
got any pics?
Somewhere. I'll see if I can find them.
It was my understanding that Ben Markley bought the hull from Cecil and finished the boat. It was strictly work boat style. It was powered by a 460 ford. I used it for a couple of years to commercial fish out of and then sold it for what I paid for it.
