"Save The Bay" ripped off by Maryland Lotto !!!! I was at a local cooler-refill station (liquor store), and saw some scratch-offs in the machine that boldly said "OUR BAY", and very closely resembled the maryland "Save the bay" comemerative tags. These license plates are issued to those who pay a little extra, and part of the proceeds are supposed to go to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
After assuming the Md. lottery had decided to do some good with the ENORMOUS revenue they reap, I bought two and thought part of the proceeds would go to the "save the bay" foundation. I was VERY ANGRY to say the least, when I read the back and found that "All proceeds will benefit the General Fund Of Maryland. Chesapeake Bay Trust has NO INVOLVEMENT or responsibility in this game."
This Is an OUTRAGE to use a good,non-profit organizations slogan, or one similar to it, to dupe the consumer into purchasing these tickets in good faith !!!!! I would like to post the pic's of the ticket and encourage EVERY MEMBER AND GUEST ~NOT~ to buy these tickets!!!! ~thank-you~ |
