Any divers familiar with this area?
A friend wants me to take him and a few buddies there so they can dive. That's fine. They dive, I get to run the boat and watch bubbles. But, once I get there...where?
Any suggestions for that area?

If so, I would go just offshore from the larger cliffs that look like they have tumbled into the water.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, he did mention fossils. Do you know of any markers/bouys that I could look for? About how far offshore?

Hey John, we are talking pretty close in.
Depending on your draft, you can anchor as close as you want.
As long as you stay off the land, you can anchor anywhere.
Obviously, stay well clear of the LNG docks, they are on the chart and HIGHLY visible.
I don't know of any markers of any type, the area is pretty "remote".
With erosion, they could possibly find fossils any distance away from the cliffs.
I would suggest looking for recent cliff erosion activity, such as cliff collapses.
Start there and work your way away from the beach.
I haven't tried via water but I have by land numerous times.
There are plenty of items to be found.
My friend and his kids are very much into diving but have never been there. So, we'll make a day trip out of it. It's about 3 1/2 hr run, let them dive for a couple of hrs., and then we'll troll on the way home.
be careful of your dive location a few years back the cliff came down on a girl and she was lost, stay well off the beach, but as far as a good location, the whole area is good!
Troll the western shore side from Parkers Creek up to the radar towers just south of Chesapeake Beach. You may want to try some Tony spoons up to #17 this time of year as well as bucktails. The water on the western shore is pretty shallow for diving unless you move towards a channel. I would try the beaches for fossils at low tide, this is when you will find the most. The area around Parkers Creek would be a good place to check, this is just south of Brezzy Point Marina and Plum Point.
