Poppin The Pups In Poquoson Va. 8/29/09 - The Hull Truth

My buddy Bryant, his son and I went out for an hour and a half in the shallows. We were fishing with big bull minnows on bobbers in about 4 ft of water for the first hour of the out going tide. Caught several nice pups 19-24 inches, kept two each. Also caught one small trout, one small flounder and a 25" rockfish with some nasty sores on his mouth. Short trip and a good action filled evening. Here are a couple pics.

Wow, didn't know we had redfish up this way. Where were you fishing?

Puppy Drum are all over the place this time of year. A lot of the shallows and grass beds of Poquoson flats hold big scholls of pups for at least two more months. Where are you located?

Any idea what those sores are from? They remind me of my college days...haha.
