Default Power-Boating

Hi,

I live in the Baltimore area and am very much interested in learning power-boating. I already have a boating safety certificate but want to spend some time with an instructor on a boat, to gain some hands-on experience. I was searching to find local boating schools but only got http://www.annapolispowerboat.com/. They charge $700, which I find is very expensive compared to similar courses being offered in NY for $200-$300. Need some suggestions as to where can I learn power-boating around MD?

Thanks
Gabroo

Since you want to learn the classroom might be a good place to start before the "hands-on" begins...

Start with the Coast Guard Auxilery Power Boating "Boating Skills & Seamanship" course. Click "Class Finder" at the top.

That is the right idea. But what after the course is over? There are no boating schools which give Hands-on training in this area.

Check into a local "Coast Guard Auxiliary" - they may let you do a "ride along" on one of their patrols?

Regards,
