Default Blue Angels Annapolis

The Blue Angels performed their practice session Tuesday, 25 May in Annapolis over the Severn River in front of the Naval Academy.

First over the crowd was "Fat Albert", the C-130 that is used to support the Angels.

It's hard to shoot high performance aircraft with a digital without a long lense... at at the speeds these guys were flying, it's a wonder I got any shots at all.

Nice shooting. With how fast those guys go it is like shooting ducks with steel shot during a NorEaster. I hope to get out for an hour or so tomorrow if my boat is done its service..

They were supposed to do a show here sometime this summer. Administration screwups at this end probably. We were looking forward to going down & anchoring next to the runway which is only a couple hundred feet from the water. Talk about front row seats!

I was out yesterday and today to see them.* They fly over my office during their show!* Awesome as usual.* They did their high show for practice Tuesday and the low show today because of the weather.* At least none of them broke this year!!* The last two times I saw them they started the show with 6 planes and finished it with 5.* The last time the pilot landed and hopped in the #7 two seater and went right back up to finish the show!*

That was me.

BTW - A few weeks ago I posted a photo of a 29' C-Hawk SeaTow towboat who had a client on the hook in the Severn River... The Captain of that towboat happened to be there in the crowd and we got to chat a bit... You just never know who you're going to meet on the water via THT (or TF, for that matter!).
