Solomons Island stripers My two friends and I went to solomons on Thurs for some fishing and it turned out to be some of the most exciting fishing I have ever had. We tried to fish for some spot up from the bridge by the first bouie but gave up realy fast. We decided to shoot across the bay but was stoped short when I saw some bait fish action on top the water. I readied my cast net to catch some bait but it turned out to be a big school of stripers. We put on some top water plugs and things and it was on. All three of us had fish on at the same time. It was total caos. As soon as the bait hit the water we had fish on. We followed the school for about an hour catching blues and stripers. we had our limmit within the first 20 min. The fish size ranged from 16 to 24 inches. They would dive down and disapere for a bit then we would spot them somewhere else and move in. All this happened around 12:00 to 1:30. We spoted a smaller school out from the power plant but could not get to them in time to cast. they did not stick around long. We got a little upset with another boat that was trolling toward us they cut rite in front of us well with our casting distance and spooked the whole school. I wanted them to catch fish and was going to offer advise on what to use but they cut us off and we didnt see them catch anything. |
