1/0 or smaller DAIICHI Bleeding Bait hook ( red ) a couple of 1/8 split shot a foot or two above hook with a piece of fresh clam ( try to hide the hook). Drift bait back in current and wait for the school to come around Tower. Some use a large freshwater bobber 3 or 4 feet above hook, thats fun on flat days. Think the limit is still 4 Fish per person.

Have fun ( finding a spot to back into )

P.S. Looking for someone to Buddy Up with for OI Offshore. 24 Albemarle

broncobirdy...

Try putting 6-8 "cannonballs" on a piece of house wire and a 3oz weight. Back up to structure, put above on bottom, after 15 minutes or so, raise slowly. You can bring up the whole school w/it. They will eat the "cannonballs" and leave only an "apple core". After the school comes up, use above reccomended rigs w/1/4"-3/8" cannonball parts. Lots of fun!

Tower is a real "parking lot" on the weekends, and not for the first-timer, or the squeamish.* Try a weekday first, if you can.

Small pieces of clam on the small hooks noted above is the most common.* Some folks just lower it down 6-10 feet, with a small splitshot weight.* We usually use floats and let the hook drop 2-6 feet, depending on where the fish are holding - and*still use a small splitshot.

These fish are real fighters, and a lot of fun on light tackle.* But too light and you will not even see them - just lose them...* :-)

As to anchoring, the water is 35-50 feet deep there, and I use most of my 250-foot rode, with 30-feet of chain and a 22# Delta anchor.* Seen far too many folks try to hold position on very short scope and drag into other boats, or into the tower structure.

They are also GREAT EATING...

Good luck,

Brian
