I assume you are looking for stripers?
go out of the sass & make a left -south-. There are pleny of rips, humps & bumps just off of Whorton point that hold fish. Then you can work your way further south to Hodges bar, 7' knoll & all of the other structure in the area. The most producive area can be at Love Point. Alot of boats will be chumming around those parts & a steady pick of rock can be had.
Moving water is 100% important.
Jiggin is productive. Stingsilvers, sassy shads, bass assisains...
Topwater plugs will work.
Birds will lead you to fish as well. bluefish tend to stay on top, the rock will be below them with the biggest rock hanging down current from the blitz. They are lazy & wait for the pickings to come to them.
The flats & TP area will get to hot for a steady rockfish bite in the summer.
A dry summer will bring all sorts of fish to TP in the fall. Blues, flounder, rock.... |
