Were heading down to the chesapeake bay for the 4th of july fireworks. Will be putting in at the anchor marina on the north east river. Were coming down july 2nd. Wife would like to hit the bay bridge area for some fishing. We have a 27 foot cabin cruiser with a 100 gallon gas tank. At cruising speed of 23 mph the boat burns around 14 gallons per hour. I'm trying to get an idea of the range.
You could do some fishing without running all the way to the bay bridge, while I am not that familiar with the bay that far north, I know in the vicinity of pooles Island etc there is some good fishing.
if i'm thinking straight here
given what you said in your post
at 14 gallons per hour traveling at 23 miles per hour you should be able to go 161 miles +/- on 100 gallons of gas.
100 gal./14gph = 7.1 hours
23 miles per hour x 7 hours = 161 miles
