Default Kids Fishing spots

I have been looking for good calm waters to fish and lunch. I have found plenty of places to anchor and have lunch but so far not any good fishing spots for the kids. I don't care what I catch, we throw them all back (If I ever catch anything). So far we have been comming up empty. We boat out of the Rhode River Marina in Rhode/West River.

Anyone have any suggestions?

melnic,
Venture accross the Bay via the narrows and into the Backside of Tilghman Island and swim fish and lunch along all the little creeks that make up Harris Creek. Lots of perch in the shady overahangs. 4lbs test with spinners and little crank baits and its alot of fun. Nowhere near as crowded as the Western Shore and the bay is only like 7 miles wide. Beer bait and ice and snacks in the narrows @ Marina by the bridge.

Have fun,
Greg

If you want to stay out of the open Bay, there are lots of creeks and other areas of flat water in the various tribs.

One spot that comes to mind would be all the areas surrounding Round Bay in the upper Severn. There are enough spots up there to keep you busy all summer.

Tollys Bar at the mouth of the Severn and Hacketts Bar at the mouth of Whitehall Bay are always good bottom fishing areas on calmer Bay days. A little further north you've got Podickery Point at the mouth of the Magothy and across the bay on the ES you have Love Point at the mouth of the Chester... all good spots.

There are tons more spots, but these will get you going. Good luck!

Thanks Gregg,
Tilghman Island is pretty much in view as I exit the West River. I'll plan to check that out soon.
I've only been out on the new boat 4 times this year and I've been wanting to cross over there anyway.

I was hoping for to search for a spot in the creeks of the west or Rhode River. I"ll have to kee scouting

Oops, just looked at the map, The south end of Kent Island is in view as I exit the West River. But that still looks like a nice place to visit.
The wife likes to explore waterside restaurants. Once we can tie up at.
Have any recommentations down near Tilghmans?

Melnic,
Many Annapolitans go to the Kenmoor, its a little north of where your looking @ on Kent Island but not by much. Living around Annapolis we like to go explore when we can as summer weekends are to busy. Megabyte mentioned most of my favorite local spots, lets see what others down your own way suggest. Do you have Bluecharts, filled with lots of Marina and Resturant info if you scroll around.

Yea I have a GPS with Bluecharts As well as the ADC map book.
With my GPS (Handheld C60), it does not show marinas on the map. I have yet to try searching for marinas though.

Thanks
