I have the fondest boyhood remembrances of that eastern shore campground. My family used to make it an annual summertime pilgrimmage for fishing and crabbing. Sometimes we journeyed out on the local headboat, but mostly I spent the afternoons fishing from the three lengthy piers that jut out like wooden promontories into the bay. However we had the best luck renting rowboats (powerboat available nowadays) and tossing out weighted chicken necks and scooping up net-fuls/bushel-fuls of soon-to-be-steamed blue crabs. It is a very family-oriented, well-run and safe place to take the young ones. It's proximity to the bay bridge-tunnel makes it an excellent jumping-off point for boating. The tackle shop, as mentioned, is a great place to check with. Good luck! |
