Default marinas in central, south DE

hi, i'm a new THT member and am moving to Delaware later in the year...was wondering about folks' experience with storage and/or services at marinas in central/southern Delaware? i am looking at annual storage for a 24' bay boat in a dry slip, w/ good service to get the boat in the water and fueled up on a couple hours notice (i will be living in middletown). don't really want to keep the boat on the canal b/c of the long run to fishing grounds. i like the rates and location of Cedar Creek (Slaughter Beach)...people seem good too from early conversations.

thanks.

Cedar Creek is a great facility and the people are top notch. I kept my boat there for a few years and never had issue with anything. I never had to give them hours notice for the boat to be ready to go either. I would normally call when I got to the Air Force Base (about 20 minutes away) and let them know I was on my way. Only reason I left was because I sold my boat. Marvin and Mary will treat you well if you decide to put your boat there. If you have any other questions, let me know.

We kept our Whaler there last year. Moved it this year since we were able to find a floating dock in Lewes. Depending where you plan to fish, Cedar Creek can be a boat ride. Email or PM me with any questions.

I know the Cedar Creek Marina quite well too and they are a 1st class operation.

ejm: yeah it could be quite a trek still down to the inlet at Rehoboth or to Fenwick (40 or 50sm at first glance?). I guess from what I have seen of the marinas down there compared to CC, though, it could be worth it. My boat has a range of about 270sm at peak performance throttle level...so not too worried about it from that perspective, but the time is certainly an issue.

It's good to hear that I got the right impression of CC from only long distance communications. If you folks have other suggestions further south (Lewes or Rehoboth) I'd be open to checking them out as well. Again don't really want a wet slip for many reasons.

Thanks for the help so far!

To my knowledge there is only Cedar Creek in Slaughter Beach and another located @ Indian River. Then there are one or two in Ocean City, MD which would really be a drive.

Yep, Indian River is a State-owned facilty but they offer dry-storage too. Just have to be careful at Indian River Inlet because there are days taht you may not be able to get out of the Inlet (or back in) because of heavy seas.

yeah i think if i end up keeping it in Delaware (and not in my own garage) it'll be at Slaughter. also entertaining the notion of putting it in MD on the eastern shore of the bay but i haven't looked into marinas over there yet. i dunno, we'll see, i have some time to decide.
