Just curious as to when is the best time of year to catch keeper Flounder in the Bays around Ocean City, MD. (Isle of Wight, Assowoman, etc). I ususally hit it in July / August, but I feel that's too late.
I usually do best with the larger flounder during May, June, September, and October. During the summer months the through back to keeper ratio goes up but it's still alot of fun for friends and family that don't get to fish to much.
There are certain spots where the flounder fishing is best, but generally they can be caught about anywhere.
The deeper water and channels are your best bets, and in the thorofare. There is deep water on both sides of the route 50 bridge, which is a good spot too.
Think deeper water in the heat of the summer, and shallower water in the spring and fall, except at the very end of the season when they start bunching up in the channels.
