Random Quote: The smaller the fish the bigger the lie.
I was out there with the fleet yesterday. There were trollers everywhere, but the fish were few and far between.
Got one 31 inch fish after 8 hours, also near BB light, aslo on green tandem rig. If I were going agian today I would wait untill afternoon.By then most guys are out of beer and patience.
I'm going out early tomorrow morning. I'll post results tomorrow night if I'm not too tired. Heard lots of reports, some good , some not so good. It sounds like the old adage, hows it go? "10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish." The rock are still moving up the bay. The water temps are in the hi 40s to low 50s. I suspect most haven't spawned yet.
We did the Boatyard Bar and Grill in Annapolis tournament I believe the winning fish was 42" We got one right by 80 on white shad bucktail @ 31". Many were shunked and most were on the smaller side. Great party though.
Worked on the boat and tow vehicle all day Saturday. Up until 11 PM loading the boat up, making rigs. Over slept Sunday morning, I was beat after saturdays 2nd coat of bottom paint and trailer hitch install. A little late, but the boat was floating at Chesapeake Beach at 9:00 AM Sunday, started fishing at 10AM, caught 2 fish by 1:30PM and called it a day since I still needed to get the slip business straightened out. 32 and 34 inch fish, both on white umbrellas in 60 feet of water.
It seemed pretty slow, but I know someone who got 7, released 3, kept 4, with 3 of them 38" or better. I also heard a lotta skunks.
At least you guys were fishing. I was wishing I was fishing as I was home sick. I hope to get out there maybe wednesday after work. I ll keep you posted!
Picked up a 36" and 2 37"s at Love pt. on bunker chunks; lost a bigger fish in the props. Tried by Thomas on Sun, got one 37". Scary thing is all 3 fish had immature roe in them--the fish are waaay behind schedule. Talked to 12 guys who were out opening day and only one of them had a keeper, a 34" fish. I think the vast majority of guys skunked, and those that caught mostly had just one fish.
I got one nice 44 incher and that took all day! After that, nothing.
It would be nice if we could post pictures on here!!

Was in the water 15 min. after daylight, complete with my new GPS, Battery operated depth-finder (16 foot aluminum boat), and grandad's old railroad-cap. Got past the jetty at sandy point park, to face 25 mph winds !!!! ( GRRRRRRR ) put on my life jacket under my coat, (3 ft. white caps). toured my usual spots, and when the wind died, ran for Love Point, to find the wind picked up even worse ! Idled back to the bridge to save beating the boat to death, and figured I might as well have a line in.
At 11:00 on the dot, at the tail end of the tide,a 31 in. line sider took my parachute rig, and made it all worth the lost sleep, dead depthfinder batteries, cold wind, colder spray, being up at 3:30am fixing that @^%$# brake lite wire, and paying $23.50 to have my $13 tag renewed the day before!!!!!!!! ~~~Cant wait to get out there again~~~
