You talking about the one in the upper bay or lower bay? If lower bay (CBBT) I'm just now hearing reports of some big ones being caught.

There are plenty of schoolies around and some over slot fish being caught up around the third.

Good Luck!

We have been catching good sized fish right up to the slot, and occational fish above the slot. largest to date has been 37". Have heard chatter on the radio at night boasting of 44" fish but I think they were catching them at the high rise. Did see one pic of a 40"+ fish on Tidal fish site. The bite has been hit or miss. Some nights we catch 30+ fish, others we have a tough time getting our limit. Last Tues went out and caught 7, one over the slot, but released because it had lesions on it.

Sorry when you said high rise in your last post what area are you talking about. I some times get confusioned. Because I live near the High Rise bridge in Chesapeake, Va but I don't think that you are talking about that place.

another dump questions I have never fresh water fished for striper is the setup up basically the same. I hear people talking about the hot ditch often I live about 5 mins from it but I have never fished it.

Thanks,

Thanks,
The Highrise at the CBBT is the elevated span right before Fishermans Island. On a clear day you can see it from the 1st.

Striper fishing in fresh water is very similar to saltwater. Saltwater tatics depend on where you are fishing though.

The High Rise is at the north end of the CBBT.

We cast 3oz. jig heads with 6" shads(plastic). Let the bait get to the bottom and bounce alog the rocks. Usually productive. 7' MH rods with ABU 6600 reels, 20- 25 lb. test mono, some people use briad, but I like the forgiveness of mono.

Thubert57, we are usually fishing out of my 20' Privateer Roamer. It has red canvas on the T top. Occationally we fish with another friend who has a new Proline WA. i think it is about 26-28', named " My Brothers Boat". Neat name, 2 brothers own it.
We can be found at the 1st or 3d most of the time. We monitor chanel 68.

Thanks CD, I saw a Proline matching that description yesterday (Sunday) at the curve about 8:45 or so. Nice boat, I commented that I wish I could get my boat to go that slow.

I too monitor 68, Tomfishery is the boat name. I'll keep my eye out!
