Default Hart Miller

It's been about 12 years or so since I last visited Hart Miller Island. From Google pics it appears they have put up some break water devices or something. You used to be able to pull up to the shore, can you still do that? Do they still have the Beef Barge selling food on the weekends? What about weekdays or Friday evenings, does the Beef Barge show up then?

Hart Miller Island is a jumping place on weekends. Yes, one can still beach their boat, but many prefer to anchor out in the shallow water and wade into shore. Ashore is a a 'green' restroom facility that operates on the theory of composting, and an observation tower.

The Pit Beef boat is usually on station Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Hail 'Grabbers" on channel 68 to place your order, and they'll deliver to your boat via dinghy.

With the fuel prices surging this year, Hart Miller Island has the destination of choice for many boaters seeking an anchorage without travelling across the bay to Fairlee Creek or beyond.

Are there any ramps available closer than Sandy Point or Key bridge? There used to be a county park near there but I heard it closed.

Do you know if those ramps get real crowded on weekend, hard to park? This was probably a stupid question.

Yep, that's what I meant though I didn't word it well. I may give it a try this weekend. Thanks.
