Default Poquoson area fishing.

Thinking of going down to fish the Poquson area next week or the week after. Anybody know where a good place to launch near the bay would be? How about a place to stay? I have been reviewing the charts and it looks like a good place to drift some bait.

Here's two ramps. Can't help with a place to stay. God luck.

I prefer the ramp at Dandy Point. Its a good, easy ramp to launch from. Bait shop right there with a very helpful crew. Super walmart on the road on the way in. Its the "Fox Hill" ramp listed in the link MudRunner provided you.
Make sure and carefully follow the channel markers out. When you reach the island, turn to port, hug it about 50' off the beach, turn around the point to starboard. The left side of the big channel has some shallows, be careful. Both sides have pots. Once you get out, watch your chart, on the right side there are some good areas you can drift for bait on the edge of the channel.
They also quite often sell two sizes of live spot at Wallace's, as well as bull minnows and eels.
