Default Camping on the Delaware ?

So here is the plan.
We have a 23' boat and it sleeps 3 comfortably. We now have 3 more people that want to come down and stay overnight. My question is does anyone know of a place that we can anchor the boat and goto shore and setup tents and camp for the night ?

I've noticed a few places that looked good along the delaware but i'm not sure on the legality of camping at those spots.

We are near Tullytown, Pa. right now.

Thanks!

Default Re: Camping on the Delaware ?

North of Tullytown, on the Jersey side there is a small cove on Newboldt Island. Pleanty of people have camped there. Anchor in the cove and your all set.

The "camp site" is on the south tip of the cove.

Make sure that if you ancor at high tide you are far enough out that you are not on the ground at low tide, I am guess at least 30+ feet. Also keep in mind if you need to get to the boat at low tide, you will have to walk thru the mud to get to it.

There is normally a fire ring already setup and remenats of other peoples camp gear around. for a while there was a tent set up and left there.
