Default Trailer Brakes

Any advice on a good resource to install breaks on a fairly new twin axle Venture trailer in the Northern Neck area? Any rough estimates on what it should cost?

Thanks
Alan

cost will depend on brake style - good disc brakes are circa 800 dollars without installation. drum brakes are worthless. dont know anyone in nn area but u can call portsmouth trailer for info estimates. they are the best in the VA Beach vicinity.

Can't say enough about Portsmouth Trailor... They'll treat you right and they do great work. SS disk are the ONLY way to go. "Take care of your equipment, and your equipment will take care of you"!

Thanks, everyone. I'll give Portsmouth Trailer a call. Agree on SS disks - I don't want to do this every other year.

I just converted my hubs to oil filled, venture trailer. You may want to consider this while getting the brakes done.

Portsmouth trailer is pretty good but you can save yourself some money by ordering from Eastern Marine up in MD or DE. Just tonite I converted a friends EZ Loader that was drums to Kodiak GalvX disc. The reason we did not put stainless on was because of the reports I have been hearing of warpage problems. EZ Loader informed me on the phone the other day that they stopped installing the SS Disc kits on their trailers. The Galvx was around 114.00 per hub, new master cylinder was around 200, 60 all rubber brake line kit, amsoil marine synt. grease 6.95, new back axle bearings, races, and seal 16.00x2, and a bottle of the Phosperic (sp) acid to kill the rust and a can of galvanizing paint to touch it up. If you need any help let me know. Do check eastern marine prices though.
