I live in Gloucester, VA and I know there are some great clamming areas around me. I have a few questions:

-After reviewing the VMRC regs on clams, are there any limitations or restrictions as long as I am using a manual clam rake?

-What times of the year are off limit (if any)?

-What times of the year are best for harvesting clams (and why)?

-Any general tips for finding clams (other than sandy bottom)?

-Are there any types of clams that should not be eaten?
