 OC report 10/14/07
Left OC inlet a 6am forcast was for 10-15 knots SW 2-3 feet
Heading to warm water in the Washington Canyon, after we get to th 20 fathom line it was plain ugly 20knot gusts, (4-6 feet) white caps,, so we pressed on anyway hoping it would lay down. dropped down at 30 fathom lumps and troll all the way toward th 100 FA line.
At 80 fathoms 73 degree water a hoo rips throught the spread flashing behind the boat and 1 hit 1 fish. he take a plum and black chugger skirted ballyhoo short flat line off the transom.
tha angler has him a minute and says hes gone but the hoo was running toward the boat so i tell him to reel and with the boat in forward we tighten up, now im at 10 knots and the angler is takin line still, the fish runs to the boat and into the waiting gaff.
the ride (56 miles) in was priceless, trimmed the nose all the way down and we run at 18-19 knots on top till 35 miles and she starts to lay down, 23-24 knots, hit the inlet after a dry ride in , thank god at 6:15

no dolpin home at all on the 10 high flyers ???
