Default Attempted robbery

My boat was on blocks getting powerwashed, transducer had some growth on it and it was time to clean the hull which I do twice a year. Changed some filters and she was looking good. Ready to splash down the next day. That night some creepy b*stard tries to take off one of the 225 4 cycle Yamahas. He cut all the lines to the motor (fuel steering etc) and then tried to unbolt it. he used a bolt cutter. He must of realized the idiocy of his actions picking up the engine by hand (!) and left it. I have a lot of friends in law enforcement and they're on it. It really sucks. Jon

Stamas 31 express currently with half power.

I need to tell my insurance company this. I just repowered my 17cc with a new Yammie 90 and they would only insure the motor to about half of it's worth. They claimed that no one would steal just the motor, they would steal the whole boat.

Sorry about the mishap, at least they didn't get it but it sucks you have to run all new rigging.

Your lucky. I have a friend in Florida who had the transom cutt off with a chain saw for the motors. Yes, motORS. Had Yammie 250's.

Eastern shore chesapeake bay. This hasn't happened before at this marina and I don't want to give the place a bad rep. Just one of those things.

I heard DNR caught a couple of people stealing on the Magohty River yesterday. My neighbors co-workers son had his boat stolen on Wednesday night, DNR found the boat the next morning along with two other boats and several outboards.

This happened to me last year with a small outboard 9.9hp nissan outboard I owned. I had it outside on the porch locked to the deck and some m f'er came in the middle of the night in the rain and cut the chain w/ bolt cutters and took off with the motor and stand. The Queen Anne's County Police listed it missing in the local paper and an honest older guy apparently turned it in. He said his sons bought it off of some guy walking down the road with it and sold it to his sons for a couple hundred dollars. His sons painted the motor camoflauge before their father turned it in to the authorities. Thank God I got the motor back, but it is still camo. I hope they find whoever did this to your motor. I have heard of this several times over the last year in the KI area. Good Luck.

There is huge amount of illegal drugs being sold in Queen Anne's County. That leads to many thefts.
