I was wondering if anyone here used the Perryville Ramp or the Charlestown ramp?

I have used both of them this year and the Perryville city ramp is much better. More room to line up, and it has a dock to tie up to for loading. On the other hand Charlestown has more parking. And Charlestown was alittle shallow for the first 200 feet out.

Do you need a pass to use the Perryville ramp?

Perryville requires a permit. I'm out of state and it was $10 a day or $50 for the year. They probably have run out of yearly permits ( only 25 a year ). Here is a link to the city park and recreation. You have to get the permit from them, but if your too far away, I bet you could call during the week and do the whole thing over the phone, The staff there was very helpful.

I have been using the Lapidum ramp across from Port Deposit lately, and bought the Md State Parks Passport. I foresee Lap being my home ramp, and I'm sure I will use Dundee a bunch too.

$75 gets you,

* unlimited day-use entry for up to 10 people in a vehicle to Maryland's state parks*;
* unlimited boat launching at ALL facilities by displaying this pass on your dashboard; and
* a 10 percent discount on state-operated concessions and boat rentals.
