The boat stayed in the water for the most part (thanks 24/7 for the trim tricks ) and when she did get up it she was launching over 4 footers. The whole trip took less thank 2.5 hours and 2 guys slept in bean bags the whole ride.
Mind PM'ing me the details. We run a 36YF and we are always open to learning how to better run a triple engine boat in seas.
rocknreel, I wasnt looking to bash, trying to be ahead of issues that may arrise in future. those valves are fine, if they break then easy to replace, in fact I dont expect those things to last forever in marine environment. That to me is a small thing that goes with the territory. But good to know that in time those will fail.
I rode both the 36 Yellowfin and the 36 Inv at the Miami show this year (am suprisingly in three of the pictures on this post). I loved the ride and the fit and finish of the Inv, but they had electronic problems preventing us from knowing the top speed and they did not go in the ocean (which was pretty flat anyways). The YF 36 was a really amazing and wild ride. The bow rise seemed a bit extreme until the boat was on plane. Although the ride on the YF was wild and impressive, I was disappointed in the fit and finish. From what I remember, the wiring under the console was not great and was shocked to see a fuel line runing openly through the inner area below the console which left a distinct fuel smell in the cabin. Both Wyle and Alex were great and I have no doubt that they would make any buyer very happy. The biggest dissapointment for me was that the guy running the Invincable would not go to the ocean. Running back and forth in the bay or intercoastal did not give me a sense of what that boat could do in a choppy or rough ocean. Also from a Mercury standpoint, I was on two boats with the 350 SCIs that both were having problems. Interestingly, Invincable and Yellowfin both had the Verado 350 SCIs that had the issues.
I bet the Invincible was told not to run out to the ocean, either too fast for average joe to risk injuy in the ocean or the Mercury guys didnt want the boat to be gone so long each time. I know Saturday the Invincible was so busy they didnt tie lines between rides most of the time.
You want to know what the boat will do in seas? I will get you out in one anytime you want in SW FLA, SHE IS SICK. Read my post last page about our last trip to the fort. She handles the seas like you wont believe, the YF will run faster in 4-5+ but the Invincible runs hard, little bang, and flys in 3s
The guy that was running the Inv told me that Mercury told him not to go offshore as the boat was running too much, he did tell some other guys to come back late in the day and he'd take them offshore. The electronics problem was fixed by Furuno at the show and worked like a charm when I was on the boat. The max speed that we saw was 72 mph but it obviously had a lot more left in it. Remember, that 36 was representing Mercury at the show. Invincible also had a 33 there that would've gone offshore anytime someone wanted to.
Although I'm a YF guy, Invincible makes a good looking and good riding boat. If I were a new purchaser of any boat in today's economy, one thing I would focus on is the finacial stability of the company that stands behind it. I have no idea how either YF or Invincible are doing, but it would be significant to me as a boat buyer that one company is much newer than the other and that Wylie has a great reputation for treating his customers well. I really can't say anything (whether good or bad) about Invincible's current ownership.
I can't wait to see them at the Lauderdale show on Thursday. When we ran the trip 350 verado boat we saw 77mph before we had to slow down do to a lack of running space. They are very impressive and extremely stable at high speeds. This company is going places and just might have our order very very soon.
