it sounds like we are all finally realizing that these two are equal. And Wylie is making his stuff better every year, the new 36 guys is sick. If you didnt see it at the show, you need to find an 09 36 and check out the bow, WOW. We all know the performance on both boats, but they both have similar fishing platforms now=DEAD FISH IN BOX

Who is exactly catching up with who??....you make it sound, in a nice way, that YF's are finally on par with invincibles with 09 models ...thats kinda of funny

You said/typed it.

well lets take a look. First, not noticable, is the 330 gallon aluminum tank in the 09s. This new tank changes the center of gravity in preperation for the 350s and 400s and beyond. Looks at brett1s boat, it sits different in the 09 than his 08. Next, Wylie has added two insulated fish boxes in the floor behind the tackle station and where do we find this layout? Invincible, but to give credit where its due they stole that from SeeVee. Wylie has raised the deck on the new 36, now the bow is fishable. In fact it looks alot like some other boats, no need to mention, lol. On par with the invincibles? NO, i have to say the improvments to the already awesome Yf 36 makes his fishing platform and stepped hull ahead of invincible. What I was getting at was that people have been trying to explain why one is better than the other, when they are very similar, now more than last year, and this brand loyalty is a waste of time. BOTH BOATS ARE AWEOME. Find me a post where i say otherwise. nice work again kevin and wylie

That is the trim piece that hides the seam where the cap meets the hull liner, and on the console it hides where the console "shoe boxes " together. Now I see the piece your talking about.
Got it. Is it just me, or is that technique not aesthetically pleasing?

I like how Inv and others have a "clean" and "smooth" surface. Seahunter uses the same "cap".
The Invincible definitely has fewer exposed fastners. They use the coaming bolster to cover the edge of the cap and where it meets the liner across the transom. I'm sure Yellowfin could put the bolster across the transom if asked. Both Manufacturers are the top of the class for tournament style boats. That light blue Invincible at the Convention Center was gorgeous and that 36 YF was nice as well.

How bout this..

Why don't we all grow up and agree, like we learned in third grade, that these boats are both very good boats, each has something that can be done differently. No boat is perfect, but these two are the closest you'll find to perfect. Then you'll find Pretender and all the rest way behind them.

I would like to see the 33T and the 36 YF in the rough stuff.

The Yellowfin and Invincible look great in the 2 ft chop. What about the heavier seas?

No doubt both YF and Invincibles are fine vessels but compared to the Contender, who has more "nuts" in the water. By that I mean the majority of the both the YF and Invincible hulls are above the water. The majority of a Contender's hull seems to be below the waterline.

Take that for what it is.

for you info this is the 36 Inv tho......ran 100+ miles sunday home in a head sea gulf chop that built from 2-3 to 3-4 as a front moved in and changed the wind from northeast to northwest 20s at most, but all in all a confused sea we ran at 37-39 knots with 4 guys, less than 200 gallons and small amount of ice. The boat stayed in the water for the most part (thanks 24/7 for the trim tricks ) and when she did get up it she was launching over 4 footers. The whole trip took less thank 2.5 hours and 2 guys slept in bean bags the whole ride.
The YF performance in these seas would be almost identical if not improved in the 4s. Wylies bow is more pronounced and munches the chop a little better, but the difference would be almost not noticable. (FYI this is only having ridin the 36YFs before 09, they maybe even better riding now with the changes)
Compareing the 33 INV and 36YF isnt really fair, more like the 33 Inv and Yf 32 or 34. Now the Yf 32 is NASTY, so is the 33INV. Drive them both and decide what layout fits your fishing better.
Driving either of these boats is a very fun time, be careful dont bring your checkbook

I have ridden in the 36YF several times, a 32YF twice, and I owned a 2003 31' Yellowfin (now the 29'). Last week I just took possession of my brand new 34' Yellowfin because my personal belief is that it has the range of the 36' (450 gallons), a similar ride to the 36' (have not been on the new one), and the fuel economy that duals provide while still being able to get into the mid 60 mph range with twin F350's. I thought it was stange Wylie did not take a 34 to the Miami show....but I can tell you that I may never buy another boat. This is my sixth center console boat (all different manufacturer except for the last two which are YF) and I am thrilled beyond words with the performance, fishability, trailerability, and overall product in my 2009 34' YF.

Seems like this argument can go on forever. I love both and I owna Contender 31! I have a question for the invincible owners because I find the discussion here enlightening when it comes to what to look for when comparing superior and inferior details on these top tier CC boats. To make this objective, I must say that I criticized the YF when I saw some pics of the 29 that had a blue stainless steel ball valves in the bilge that wereattached tobrass fittings (Anodization issue). Here on the Invincible, I see plastic white with red handle ball valves - In my experience, and I have owned many boats, but am no expert, that ball valve in plastic is just waiting to crack off after not even a year in the saltwater environment. I know because I owned an Angler that it happened to several times and I gave up and switched to brass valves.

If I were buying either of these boats there would definitely be some small items that each would have to address before I pulled the trigger. Having said that the items could easily be addressed and I know neither manufacturer would have any reservations making the changes to make their customers happy.

I can honestly say I havn't had any problems with the ball valves, and I took delivery of my 33 Inv. in the first week of October of 2007.

Listen, both boats are phenomenal. The YF is a beautiful boat, but the Invincible has many positives also. You can't go wrong with either one.

With the comment above laying the groundwork, the only place to go now (Since all details on these CC "custom" boats can be modified) is a discussion of a comparison of the standard features and the hulls of each. IMO - If you want afast fishing machine from a new company - GO Invincible. If you want aonly slightly slower fishing machine fromproven dependable company -GO YF. Below this, everything is only slightly slower and only slightly less dependable. Just my .02

The red and white PVC valve. I have broken several in much more pleasant environments. Brass valves are much more dependable. But as I stated and as was replied to me- this can be modified (Custom) at time of production or even afterwards at little or no extra expense or inconvenience. Read above.
