Crazy pricing. Almost $40K for an 18 footer. Now that I've thought about it, I've neve understood Edgewater's pricing.

Agreed, but you can look around and get much better deals, especially these days and even on new boats. We paid A LOT less for our 07 318 then what they are asking for at the show.

I have never really heard comments on the ride of the big CC's from these guys? Anyone have comments?

The ride of the 318 is awesome. Having ridden a number of highly regarded large CCs (Contender, Southport, Hydrasports) during seatrials, I believe the 31 edgewater compares favorably to all of them. For what its worth, I've heard very good things about the ride of the 38, heard the 26 was mediocre and pounded, and heard the 24, for its size, is a very good riding boat. So go figure.

I don't understand why some people mock the price of Edgewater. They build solid safe boats with excellent fit and finish and very nice lines. When compared to there competition they are actually less expensive (whaler, everglades, etc). I own an Edge 188, that I chose over a 190 outrage. I feel I made the better decision. The boat is very solid. I fished a few miles offshore with no problems and have had as many as 7 people in it for a cruise in poor weather. Yes we got wet, but that would have happened in any 18 footer or larger. If we were in any other 18 footer, I probably would have taken a wave over the bow. Thanks to the high freeboard and slight bow flare, this did not happen, it handled it very well. To each there own, but until some sea trials a boat, everything is pure speculation.

By the way I boat in NJ and exit and enter the Barnegat Inlet, quite often. Anyone familiar with this inlet knows it is definetly no picnic.

Finally, every single one of us on this sight is very lucky to be able to enjoy the sea the way we do. It doesn't matter what we are are driving, just get home safe. Can't wait for summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think boat show salesman and dealers are no different than any angler. If you put a lot of time and effort into the hunt, you want to catch the biggest fish possible.

Beautiful shots Luda. I agree with the pricing comments. From everything I see the EdgeWaters are priced the same or a little less than any other top of the line boat except the EdgeWaters have a liftetime hull warranty, are unsinkable, are composite and have Yamaha's which none others have.

I own a 26 Edgewater and haven't experienced any pounding. Don't make any purchase decision based on what you hear from someone who knows someone who...

Didn't mean to insult. Was again word of mouth and not a first hand experience. My only first hand experience is with the 318 and it is the real deal.

I also own the 265 cc Edgewater and mine has never pounded. It is a heavy boat and you have to trim it correctly. Boats I have had before this..... Contender,Seavee, Fountain. Pursuit and the 265 cc Edgewater does not pound anymore than my previous boats.
my .02 cent

I could not be happier with my 225cc. Expensive boats? Yes. Overpriced? That depends on what you want from a boat...quality, safety, lifetime warranty--all things worth paying for in my opinion, but everyone is entitled their opinion. That said, if you've never sea trialed an EW your opinion doesn't hold much weight.

I like that cooler/bait well on the 18cc, nice set up for that size boat.
