Any Must See New Models?
Going to the show tomorrow, it'll be my first time to the Miami show. I know with the slow economy that a lot of small builders will forego the cost of entering the show and that established (mainstream) builders have held off on new model production.
My question is this - - Anyone who's been there either today or yesterday see anything that's a Must See?
I loved the Rock Salt pics from last year, but I don't see them or Albury Brothers on the exhibitors list this year. Guess I picked a slow year to go, but at least it's not too far for me.
Haha nice....Unfortunately, while that model is in the water, I heard they're not letting anyone sea trial her. Judging from the looks of her though, with that little bow flare she might be a wet ride. Also, the transom doesn't have much deadrise either so she might pound in the rough stuff.
That being said I'd trade my boat in any day for that.
The 26 Jupiter was nice but $115k for a 26ft w/single engine is outrageous. Did Jupiter bring the 26 mold out of retiremnet or is it a completely different boat?
Another outrageously priced boat, IMO, was the Intrepid 242. $120k-$140K depending on the options for a 24ft boat.
I guess no one though it was cool but me but I liked the Everglades Commercial and Government Division 35 pilot wish I had got some pictures. It would be a bad @ss fishing boat...

I talked with the guys from Jupiter for a long time about the new 26. They were some good people. It is a brand new hull. They previously had a 27 footer with an 8'6" beam that they were not quite satisfied with. So they came out with the 29 with a 9'4-6" beam and got rid of the 27.
This year they released the 26 which has an 8'8" beam but is a new hull design than the 27. The 26 has 22 degree deadrise, while the 27 and 29 had 24 degrees.
I talked to some of the guys from the dealer in Bama that were helping out with the show and the 26's they had there were the first two. One had twin yamaha 150 four strokes and the other had the single 350. They said the single 350 got the boat to 53 mph (if my memory is not failing me) and the 150's were getting the other boat just shy of 50mph.
I believe they were both priced approximately the same. They said the boats were performing wonderfully and that they were very impressed with them so far.
As far as the price goes....I agree it is a pretty penny to pay. IMHO as long as people want to buy boats that are extremely overbuilt and finished to the hill....go for it. I may not be able to buy it new (hopefully one day ), but it means that a few years down the road you can find a rock solid hull down the road at a price a normal guy can afford.
It may just be me, but I'd rather repower a rock solid hull and skip the latest and greatest new built-in gadget, then buy a new economy boat that was never assembled right in the first place.
I'm glad you like the V-Lock birdman, nice meeting you at the show.
Don't forget to send me pictures when you get them installed.

Love it, great little product you got there. www.v-lock.com
I'm mounting it in the center of my transom to use as a center rod holder, a small dinghy motor mount, and kindof a serving table (bait type Magma table). Awesome...
I might get another base and plate, to use as a removable downrigger mount on my gunnel.
