After looking at several of these boats, I still cant believe, the two piece construction and all the wasted room. One of the worst layouts for a center console.
moving forward on this boat while fighting a fish will result in tremendous toe stubbing pain from the angler kicking the T-Top supports that stick out and are bolted to the forward deck.... YUCK - terrible ergonomics.

The name Buddy Davis and a lot of molds were purchased by Ira Trocki the owner of Egg Harbor, Topaz, Murray Bros, and a couple other boat compaines, years ago.

Re: BUDDY DAVIS 2009
So is BD Boatworks still in North Carolina, or is all Buddy Davis now up in Jersey? I though somebody down in Wanchese kept some molds and and sold them as BD Boatworks. I may be wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere.
They were still building a large B&D in another building in Wanchese last year but the smaller boats are not being built in NC anymore. Not sure who was building the larger B&D but I dont think it was Buddy Davis...Mark
If this is a Davis made by the folks in New Jersey (the EH group) they don't have a good history. Go to www.boatbuyerbeware.com and check out some of thier issues........ I saw some fliers posted around at the Miami show and things don't look very good for them. Seems to me in times like this they would bend over backwards to service customers ....... but from what I have seen and heard they don't seem to care once the boat is paid for.
There is another post in the boating section on THT (FG Delamination Problem on New Boat) that discusses delamination on a 52 foot Davis Express. Can't understand how a company can charge big $$$ for product and then have these sorts of quality and customer satisfaction issues.
From what I understand is that Buddy is working for Egg Harbor now. I was told he was at the Maimi show working the booth for them. As far as the owner of EG he thinks he is donald trump and doesn't have to worry about things after he gets his money.
