Abacodan I agree, after owning a Contender and a Yellowfin I thought the step would be an issue as well but like you I actually prefer it now. I have a 6 and 7 year old who both love the step up area to fish from. We also have removable pads and a dodger which makes a great place for the kids to get out of the sun.

Ours is rigged with the pads and dodger too. I never thought they'd get much use, but the kids love it when all that is up, especially running in cool weather. I actually had a mosquito net made for the aft end of the dodger, and my 9 year old an I can comfortably camp on the boat with no bug issues. Just put sand bags in the lower hem. Works great. Just wish this economy was a bit better so we could plan a Bahamas trip..........
I had the opportunity to ride the yellow 41 at the Miami show. It was really impressive. The attention to detail was really outstanding and the ride was solid and agile. Too bad we really did not get the opportunity to run through some snotty conditions. We did run through the largest part of a wake from a 60-ish Viking and the boat split it with ease.
I love Contender boats, however I am just honest about the Bahama 41. That boat is awesome! I was REALLY impressed with this boat. WOT with triple 300 V-Rods was ~65 MPH at 0.8 gph. Cruise it was getting 1.3 gph.

It had trip 300's not quads but the boat will not do 65, I think he ment 56 mph. I rode on the boat and the owner of the company told me that was what the boat would do with a half tank of fuel or so. We saw 53-54 with 600 gallons of fuel and 5 people. He did say trip 350 yamahas would do low 60's, not sure what quad verado's do.
As somebody that has fished the 27 Venture and owned the 31 Bahama (if only for a short time) they are hardly the same. I agree that they "appear" the be the same but if you talk to Scott and start looking at the 2, the differences are huge! The beam of the Bahama is worth the switch alone.
I think I overheard the number $410K when we were at Scotts place but that is remembering back to June!! I am sure if you give Scott a call he will ballpark it for you.
Henley rigged a 41 as a support boat for the Miss Geico race team. Trip Yamaha 350's and bright yellow hull. Don't know if it ever hit the water as it was in back of the Henley yard on Saturday with severe hull and T-top damage and two of the three motors torn off! Not sure if it fell off the trailer or what. Looked pretty ugly though.
