Default 75 less exhibitors this year

My sources just informed me there were 75 less exhibitors at the Miami Boat Show this year (total) than last year.

List here who you didn't see.

McKee Craft
Bennett Trim Tabs

On the other hand it was good to see Rock Salt and Sham-wow as newbies!

[i]Actually, was the chamois-wow people the same company as the tv commercial?[i]

I understand that I missed Jupiter and they were actually there.

But at what it must cost to be there, I can understand it. I think the show will probably be the "last hurrah" for several builders. I was stunned at the size and scope of the show and how much goes into setting it up, including driving piles and installing miles of docks. It must cost a lot to be an exhibitor. Some of the exhibits in the brolkers area had building s on the docks set up just for the show.

I cannot imagine what it costs to float in and set up something like this for only a 5 day show:

I did not see Jupiter. If they were there, I missed 'em
Same place as every year. Jupiter had a 39, 38, 34 & 29 at the show. They actually had a pretty good crowd when I stopped by on both Sat. & Sunday. I like their 39 better then the Sea Vee 43.

They towed it down from the Ft Laud Show.

OK, even then I don't want to pay the tow bill. And after this show, do they cover it up and store it for next year? That thing is big!!!

Some of the dispays were just plain impressive, like the four MTU's hanging from a tower. Their booth/tent/whatever in the background looks like it was set upo and taken down for the show.

Yeah, you were over with the big boys - always fun displays there!

The displays at the CC weren't as impressive, as I mentioned in another thread.

Who I did not see:
Aquadrive Jack Shafts
Sea View Camera
Bmax stern drives
Island Runner Boats

What I saw, was a show that had obvious problems. Some of the booths had no carpet, looked like last minute entries. Also noticed a lot of free space and a lot of new go fast boats.

Why was the outdoor area, west of the convention center, so jam packed?

I found it confusing and difficult to see the boats. I don't recall it being that congested in years past.

I did not see, Seaway Boats there this year. They were there last year with Gillman Yachts, as I recall.

another newbie was Intensity boat works, they had a 58 sportfish at Bayside. Beautiful looking boat, great cockpit and engine room, a little too spartan in the living areas for my tastes

Cabo might have been over at the Brokerage Show.

They were here at the Ft Laud Show just a few months back. They were sea trialing constantly.

Sources told me there were approximately 97,000 paid visitors this year.

Last year there were approximately 131,000 paid visitors

Still a decent amount of people but down by more than 25%. Any idea on the number of boats sold at the show or is that number to difficult to obtain?

I believe I can get that data but it'll be another month or so.
