Default 24 Freedom fish box hatch...where to get?

I need a replacement fish box hatch. Have given up waiting under warranty and need to pick one up tommorrow. My 05 24' just has the single hatch ram, will any old replacement do from West Marine or Boatersworld?

Thing is a toe chopper without it. Just tired of waiting, would rather spend the money and get it done in 5 minutes. Any recommendations or previous experience...thanks.

Replacing tommorrow. Not thrilled about having to shell out money when it should have been covered under warranty but I'm wasting more money on phone calls then I'll probably pay for the part tommorrow

Still love the boat, just wondering if what we saw here when Key has been out has extended throughout. Certainly hope not as I love the boat.

Why can't Millway take care of it for you?

GF, just took awhile to come in. Keep in mind I had an early model 05, not sure if they were still using the same manufacturer. The part doesn't cost enough to worry about, I just didn't realize they were off the shelf/easy to get. As it turns out the parts came in.

You know how those boxes are, I got nervous having my family out on the boat without the hatch...it's a toe chopper if it dropped.

Thrilled with the boat....haven't seen Dana much but that isn't because there's a problem, at 325 hours the grand total of broken parts consists of this one hatch and that's the fault of Mr. Tuna. Boat has been flawless.

Wow, that's impressive usage and the season isn't even over yet! I only do about 50 hours per year.

Libra, I don't think the tuna actually broke it. I've noticed the other one that is tuna free is about to snap as well. I think the hydraulic portion just fails. The door is really heavy, in reality they probably should have used two.

Still not a big deal but next time I'd just order it rather than lose 2 months.

our holds the boxes up perfectly.

but um, both are damaged. ive been watching this thread to see what you did with yours. our starboard one must have been tweaked in some way, when open. i went to slam it shut real fast and *creeeak*, i bent the shaft jpretty good. i bent it back, but it aint perfect. the port side, the box was open and a buddy stepped back into the thing and bent it over like a paperclip. i always give the alert "watch your feet!" to remind everyone, but he doesnt fish with us often, so he forgot and stepped back into it. i worked it out, but its still bent and wont slide in'n out just right. i noted the size and weight are on the cylinder and i'll try west marine when i get a chance.

i dont think two would be all that helpful. they hold the lids up ok, but perhaps moving them to the stern of the box would keep them out of the way? then they are back there by the transom door and the rear of the cockpit, so are they in the way there? tough ergonomic question.
course, adding an additional one to each would be a small expense.
