Default Freedom 22- Will folding deck chairs fit between transom & leaning post?

Just curious if this would work as a set-up for taking passengers for a harbor cruise. Is there enough room back there for two of these chairs?

fairly certain will work on the port side but not certain about the starboard. With the new aluminum leaning post it shouldnt be a problem but the prior fiberglass/livewell combo is restrictive on the starboard side.

Thanks. I was thinking of the 2006 model where the livewell is on the outboard side of the transom.
I really want this boat over the Edgewater 228 but I definitely need to have the option of some comfortable seating for another couple for the frequent harbor booze cruise. If I can fit a couple of those aluminum uphostered chairs I'd have the best of both worlds.

Go buy one of the cheaper ones at Boaters world and take it to the mckee and see how it fits. I really like the EW too but my god, the prices are getting high. The EW is better for family cruising though. Do you think the other guests would take to some of the e-searider bean bags?

I think the kids would love the bean bags but the adults would definitely prefer the seats. The problem with the beanbags for a harbor cruise would be that they might not even be able to see over the gunwales.
I don't understand the pricing on the Edgewater and think the McKee is the better boat regardless of price. Just need a little bit of comfort so the boat can serve all purposes. I'd consider the Freedom 24 with the forward seating but I really want the simplicity of a single engine not to mention the cost difference...

I remember pricing the EW 22 early in my search and I recall it being close to the 24 McKee with twin F150's.
I wouldn't want to put alum chairs at the stern unless it was on occasion only and I'd probably put the sea deck matting down. The non skid will quickly eat through the rubber end caps on the alum chairs. Hell, it chews up a chamois.
I am trying to make the 22 fit my needs as well. I need to put 6 scuba tanks on a custom rail across the stern along with two bean bag chairs in each corner. I won't have much room and I will be stern heavy but it will get us there safely. I was originally planning on moving up to the 24 but I think I am going to wait longer and go much bigger. I am glad I started with the 22 as I have found that there is no "replacement for displacement" I'll be making 100+ mile trips each way. Right now I will go up to 50.
Good luck with your search, let us know what u decide.
