Default Installing 6" set back Hydraulic Jack Plate

14ft CC Scoundrel Model McKee Craft w 40HP Suzuki. I have a CMC 6" set back Hydraulic Jack Plate i'm installing. I fish the bayous of South Louisiana and also the lakes of Alabama area

I haven't seen many posting regarding Jack Plates on smaller McKee Craft boats.

My brother owns a 17Ft CC McKee Craft with Yamaha 90HP 4 cycle it's a bit more comfortable but I can fish skinny water he can't get into.

I had a 17 with a hydraulic jack plate. I bet that boat could go into almost any skinny water that your 14 can.

Any chance we could see some pictures? I'd be interested in that.

I started out with a Southporter and wanted to try something similiar to a flats type of configuration.
These are the best photos I have of the jack plate.

You're welcome.

Yes, I don't think they're common on Mckees. It does come in handy though when you want to go in shallow water. I found the boat down in Jacksonville and set it up for Long Island where it eventually ended up. I'm orginally from there. We have used it for clamming and other times in shallow water.

My ex-girlfriend now has the boat so that's why I blocked the registration numbers.
The numbers have changed but you never know.

Brezinup, what kind of performance do you get and what HP johnson is on yours? I just got an older 17 Offshorefisherman and it has an 88hp Johnson, I raised the motor to the second to last hole and am still tweaking.

Surrender,

I'm not sure. I only checked it once with a hand held GPS and if I remember correctly it was doing around 25 mph on an easy cruise setting. I'll have to check it again this summer.
That engine is 140 HP turing a 4 bladed prop.
