Default Approval time?

After completing all of the Mariner's school online work, and passing the proctored exam, once you deliver everything to the REC and it is all in order, how long does it normally take for the USCG to issue the OUPV ticket?

I am currently enrolled in the CBT training and nearing completion. I will be ready to test next month. My Red Cross first aid course will be one year old on 10/2/2008. If I take the test in Morehead City on September 20 and pass, will I be able to have my application in before the year expires on the 2nd, 12 days later?

Thanks,

Ken

Default RE: Approval time?

I just found out that you can send in your application and all the paperwork BEFORE you take the test and then turn in those results. I was also told that it can take from 6 weeks to 6 months for the license to be issued. Applying before the test allows the process to be in motion while you are preparing to pass the test.

I am pretty surprised that no one responded to my query in almost a week.

The time required for the Coast Guard to complete the licensing process has been greatly reduced with the paperwork being processed in West Virginia. You can expect the process to take less than one month as long as you filled in and submitted all the proper forms. Follow the checklist you were provided when you signed up for your online program.

In the future if you have a question it is always best to contact our office directly toll free at 1-866-SEA-CAPT or email me at CaptainBob@MarinersSchool.com please do not use the forums we support for this purpose... Although I am supposed to get an email each time someone submits a posting this just does not always occur.

Good Luck!
