Default garmin 176

I have a Garmin 176 that came with new to me bought that is no longer available. The boat is a parker 23 SE which I love. Interested in a getting a Bluechart chip if one would work or do I need to up grade the unit. Looking for the New York Harbor, jamaica bay and barneget bay new jersey chip. Price for chip if will work and posiible sugeestions for upgrade. Striper fishing and some offshore for shark and Tuna.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave. All you need is a Garmin pre-programmed Bluechart chip. No need for an upgrade.[*]Bluechart MUS004R[/list]

Jim,
Bought the chip from your store as suggested but when I put it in it does not show depths?? It does show obstructions on the bottom. I was looking at it in jamiaca bay and off rockaway at the reef?? Wondering what I should do.

You will have to go to your "Map Setup" page and tell the unit what you want it to show. You can configure it many different ways.
