Default furuno 585 low battery alarm

Hi Guys,
Anyone here able to give me some advice please?
My Furuno 585 low battery alarm is going off - is there a way to disable the alarm?
I am quite sure the batteries are fine and suspect its a dirty or poor power connection somwhere, which i need to track down, but in the meantime I'd just like to turn that alarm off but can not seem to be able to.
Thanks for any help or advice.

Steve

I'll have to check a unit in the store tomorrow and see what is going on. What is your battery voltage? Can you put a voltmeter on your batt and let me know what you get?

I checked the unit in our showroom and was not able to find a battery alarm. I do not have it on a variable power supply so I was not able to test it on a low voltage. Most FF's are quirky with low voltage so perhaps furuno just mandates a warning in conditions like this. I did see where you can turn the battery voltage on and off. Turn it on and see what its outputting for voltage.

thanks jim,
i just had the 2 brand new Interstate batteries tested and the battery shop said all 100% ok.
the furuno is reading 13V when we are steaming, but quickly drops down to 10V when the motor turns off (within about 5 mins of turning motor off).
the alarm activates at 10V.
I suspect its a poor contact somewhere but need time to sort it out and i hate the beeping in the meantime.
thanks for your advice jim. i suspect there is nothing i can do to deactivate that alarm.

Sounds like you have some troubleshooting to do on your electrical system. I would have to think it is wired well, and the batts are bad if it is 13V with the alternator on and 10V with it off. Might want to test those batts yourself.
