Default Fusion speakers vs. Infinity speakers...?

Hi Jim,

Well, I'm getting ready to place my third order with you (in two weeks) to finish getting my new boat outfitted... I had a previous issue with JL speakers on my old boat and JL customer service really disappointed me (long and short is I bought the speakers from a local authorized dealer (Sound Advice) and they went out of business - JL wouldn't do anything for me when two of my speakers when bad after not even a year). So, I swore I'd never buy JL's again....

I want to outfit the new boat (21 Contender) with a minimal sound system. I'm looking at the Fusion head units and (to start anyway) two 6.5" coaxial speakers. I've read good things about the Inifinity speakers, but the new models (612) look ridiculous (in my opinion). I'd prefer a white speaker cover with no flashy crap... That being said, are the Fusion 6.5" "True Marine" speakers any good...? Compared to the Infinity's and hooked directly to a Fusion head unit, what's your advice?

I guess I didn't look hard enough, but it seems that you still have the Infinity 602's in stock (white face). Would those be a better option over the Fusions?

I actually like the Fusion speakers. They are pretty inexpensive but sound good. I have never really put the 602M's up against anything else to compare them, but people do swear by them. So I can only assume from customer feedback that they are nice.

Ok, cool. I'm going to go to West Marine to listen to them.. Forgot they have a sound room. Do you sell the Fusion "true marine" series speakers?? I couldn't find them on the site...?

Just as an update, I bought two of the 7" Fusion speakers and installed them in the gunwales on my 21' Contender (removed the 4" factory installed access hatches just forward of the rear rod storage boxes), and they sound GREAT. Speakers are hooked up directly to the Fusion MS-RA200 that I bought from BOE and it's a great, simple, and relatively cheap setup.... Before I got the speakers, I purchased an amp on eBay, but the seller wound up not having it in stock. I'm actually glad that I got a refund on the amp, because it's just not needed (for my setup, anyway). The system is plenty loud enough even at WOT...
