Default Yamaha F90 & HDS 5

I am wanting to run the cable from my engine to my HDS 5 and am getting conflicting information on what I need. I just want to see the data the engine puts out on the NEMA 2000 network, like the RPM's and water temp as well as the Fuel flow info. I have pulled the some information from West Marine and the Lowrance website but thye conflict and I have also been told I need like 6 diffeneret cables. I thought it was just two, I think I need cable 120-311 Yamaha adapter Cable-BL and I am not sure what else. Thanks for the help.

To connect a nmea2000 capable yamaha engine you will need this - http://www.boemarine.com/Products/120-37/Default.aspx

and this - http://www.boemarine.com/Products/124-69/Default.aspx

As far as what data will show on the HDS, who knows. Lowrance's site should be pretty accurate. I am not sure why anybody at WM would know anything about this. Different people have different results with what shows up. I changes among years and models and brands. I'd figure you'll get at least rpm and fuel flow.

Ok this is what I am looking for however both of those links are for the red cable groups. The connectors on my unit are blue type, I know that you can get the red to blue connector but I also know they make the I/F cable in blue. Maybe you can explain the difference between to two cables. Also I don't see any blue connectors on the links you note here.

If you have a HDS-5 you have red connectors. Your ducer has a blue connector.

Wow this is finally working for me, answers! Ok so yes the transducer and the power cable are both blue connectors, But since I am wanting to connect to the NEMA 2000, these are actually red connectors that I will need, correct? This is why I have waited to do this because the owners manual does not explain this at all. So all I need to order are these two cables and hook it all up and it should work 4.0!!!!

I guess I should have said that the Blue ducer cable will not be attached to the NEMA network it will stay where it is.
