Default Lowrance and Navionics 907p-2 Jim?

Jim, I've tried the Navionics forum and have gotten no response to two questions and I am respectfully coming here to get some help. I am using a Lowrance LCX 112c and the Navionics Platinum SD Card 907p-2 V01.21. First, when I use the satellite imagery overlay, the image is as I stated on the Navionics forum is approximately 500 to 1000 yards off. I posted a pic on that forum. I have called Navionics on numerous occasions with no help.
Second, I read on a thread where Jeff said something about updating your cards at a Navionics dealer. Have you heard of this? I brought mine to West Marine in Mandeville, La. and they say they haven't heard of such and don't do it. I saw on the Navionics web site where you can trade up if you buy a brand new card and they will refund $75.00. There's got to be something better. I would be looking at $500 for maps on my GPS. And the one I have now is less than a year old and practically useless in the marshes in Southeastern Louisiana. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark, all I know about is their upgrade program. I have of problems with lots of the manufacturers in marsh around LA, so I don't know if its just a Navionics thing. I would suggest calling them directly to see if they can look up an area you are referring to and see if it is screwed up for them too. If so they'll probably swap your card out.

Thank you for your response Jim. But I have been contacting Navionics since January with no luck. I guess I will have to go to a different manufacturer. I was reading one of your other posts about a voucher on a trade in on the Lowrance models. Would you have any idea what it would be for my unit? Thanks again for your prompt response.

Lowrance will sometimes give vouchers when a unit is not repairable. So your 112 would have to be broken and they would have to tell you its not repairable. You'd be much better off selling it on ebay. So you have called Navionics and not had a favorable response?

I would suggest going to a local store, maybe a West Marine, and seeing if they have a Garmin unit with the Vision charts so you can see if the images are any more accurate.

Thanks Jim, Really appreciate your time.
As far as Navionics;
Discrepancy Report Submission
This form was submitted by Mark Webber on 1/18/2010 at 5:51:14 AM.
That's when I initially reported the problem. I think 8 months is long enough to wait for answer. Jeff@Navionics did reply to my post of the other forum. Said it could be a setting on the Lowrance. Be that as it may, I have a $280 GPS card that is absolutely worthless down here. It doesn't even show major water ways in the marsh. And if I do the trade in program then I am looking at a $490 GPS map and that is insane. I think I am just going to give up on Navionics and be done with it. I sincerely appreciate your time.
