Need some VHF advise - The Hull Truth

Jim,
I will be replacing my VHF and was looking for you opinion. The 3 I am considering are The ICOM 422, or 504 and the Garmin VHF 100. I primarily boat on the Chesapeake Bay with a few Offshore OC trips per year. I plan to interface with a Garmin 3210. Thanks in advance and any other suggestions are welcome.

I would personally pick the Garmin unit. Garmin has been putting out some amazing products and I really like the ergonomics and ease of use of this unit. 2nd would be the M504. The most proven of the bunch, its a staple among fishing boats. I am not a fan at all of the M422. For all that money it doesn't even have a knob for changing stations. It is one of their slowest sellers in my experience. The M304 will save you some money yet still retian the features you will actually use. Go Garmin!
