Default Question on Garmin TR-1 Gold Autopilot

Greetings,

Does anyone have the TR-1 Gold running as an autopilot for just a kicker motor?

My brother inlaw has a old 28' Uniflight with twin inboards. He wants the TR-1 to steer his Honda kicker when he is trolling. I'm reading the Garmin site and it says he would need the $2100 kit plus another engine specific kit that they don't list on the site.

Anybody doing something similar? any other insight into this?

Thanks
Dave

Its a pretty rare commodity considering the price. They work well though. You need the system, throttle assembly and bracket.

They are used a lot here in the Northwest. You can buy/use their throttle or some of us use the Trollmaster throttle. I found the throttle on the TR-1 to be to coarse for my liking while the Trollmaster was more refined.

Thanks, he want's it more for the steering not so much for the throttle. They have a Honda steering kit but it's tough to use because of the way the boat is setup.
