Default Furno compatible with Raymarine?

I just purchased a furuno 1944c nav net 10.5 screen ..I wanted to add raymarine's S-1000 autopilot.I wanted to know if these are compatible ,if so do you have to buy extra components to get them to interface.I emailed raymarine and they told me they have never heard of the furuno chartplotter?

They will interface via nmea 0183 just fine. You will just need a nmea cable for the furuno unit - http://www.boemarine.com/Products/00...4/Default.aspx
