Default Lowrance HDS 7 Sensitivity

I do alot of jig fishing from an anchor configuration in 20 to 80 feet of water. I was wondering if this unit can be adjusted enough to not pick up jigs yet still pick up Fish>?? Any comments would be appreciated.

The P66 is only 50/200. There is actually no such thing as a 80/200 or 83/200. Ducers generally are either 50/200 or just 200. Lowrance does make use of an 83kHz signal when used with a 200kHz ducer. So any 83/200 ducer so to speak is really a 200 khz ducer.

Jim: after reading this last post, I have another question. If the HDS unit uses a 200 khz ducer to produce 83 khz, will a 50/200 then be able to run at 50, 83, and 200?.

Nope, only a 200Khz ducer will do it. I am not sure what is the limiting factor though. I am pretty certain a 50/200 ducer will also do 83, but perhaps FF's are just limited to two freqs.

Hi Jim, do the HDS units do well with the B60 ducer?

They do very well. Read some of Reel Draggin Tackles posts above. He has the P66 ducer which is the same guts as the B60.
